Frequently Asked Shopper Questions

  • Who runs the sales?
  • My Kidz Closet, LLC is a privately owned company that has been running children's consignment sales for over 20 years.

  • How often do you have these sales?
  • Our sales selling spring/summer merchandise are typically in March/April, and our sales selling fall/winter merchandise are in August/Sept. of each year.

  • Are children allowed on opening day?
  • Yes, but we are not providing childcare during this event and ask, if possible, that children do not accompany you during the Wednesday Preview Sale for safety reasons.

  • Are the sales located indoors?
  • Yes

  • Are there any parking fees or entrance fees?
  • There is an entrance fee of $5 per adult required of the general public to enter the preview sale on Wednesday night, however, Thursday, Friday and Saturday have no entrance fees. Click HERE for Wednesday Preview Sale info. There are no parking fees.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?
  • My Kidz Closet accepts Cash, Check, Debit cards, MasterCard and Visa. NO AMERICAN EXPRESS OR DISCOVER.

  • What is your return policy?
  • All sales are final with no returns.

  • How large are your sales?
  • We have approximately 200 sellers

  • Can we "try on" the clothing?
  • Sorry, but no. There are no facilities available to change in. We suggest measuring your child's current clothes at home (inseam, length, waist, shoes etc). Most shoppers then bring a tape measure to check for the correct size.

  • What items do you sell?
  • Girl's clothing infant thru JRS, Boy's clothing infant thru JRS, Maternity, Toys, Outside and Inside play equipment, Little Tikes, Linens and Bedding, Shoes, Bedroom Decor, Baby Equipment, Books, Bikes, Videos, or anything else to do with kids!

  • Are the sales seasonal for clothing?
  • Yes. We only sell spring/summer clothing in our March/April sales and fall/winter clothing in our August/Sept. sales.

Frequently Asked Consignor Questions

  • Who can consign their items and become a seller?
  • Anyone can consign their children’s items with My Kidz Closet.

  • What percentage of the sales do I receive?
  • Sellers receive 70% of their sales less a $10.00 seller fee. However, you could be eligible for a higher percentage and/or eliminate the seller fee if you volunteer. Check out the Volunteer Incentive Schedule to see how you can earn a higher percentage and/or eliminate the seller fee!

  • What percentage of my items can I expect to sell?
  • Most sellers sell approximately 85% of their items in sizes 2-10. For sizes under 24 months the percentage drops due to the sheer volume of merchandise received. People also tend to receive infant clothing as gifts, hand me downs etc. The older sizes also will sell at a lower percentage as children become pickier as they near the pre-teen years and there is no way to try clothes on. Remember, bring your best items and price them to sell!!

  • When do I pick up my unsold items?
  • Unsold items are to be picked up on the Saturday of the sale closing. All items not picked up at that time will automatically be donated and the check mailed within 48 hours.

  • Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold items?
  • No, when you pick up your unsold items, your items will already be sorted into your Seller# for easy pickup.

  • How long does it take to receive my check?
  • We make every effort to have your check ready on Sat. night when you pick up your unsold items (the day of the sale closing)! If not, they will be mailed within 48 hours.

  • Will I know what items have sold?
  • Every seller will be able to download a report the following Sunday after the sale closes that lists each item that sold under their seller number. After each sale day, you can go online to the website, login to the Consignor Home Page and see what sold for that day.

The nightly totals are your GROSS sales and do not take into account the percentage and/or fees retained by My Kidz Closet, LLC.

  • Where do I find safety pins/coat hangers?
  • Some dry cleaners will give you a modest amount of these items free. If you need a lot, ask if you can buy them. Most of the time dry cleaners will sell you these supplies at a reduced amount. (cheaper than discount stores). Other places to try are your local $1.00 store or Walmart.

  • If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale?
  • No. Consignors drop off their items and come back on Saturday evening to pick up their unsold items and their check. However, volunteers do get the very earliest shopping privileges for working before, during or after the sale. Check out the Volunteer Incentive Schedule on the VOLUNTEER PAGE.

  • How many items can I bring into sell?
  • Each seller may sell up to 250 items per seller ID#. If you have over 250 items, you can obtain a second ID# by registering again under a slightly different name. (example: K. Long instead of Katrina Long). You would then have two separate seller numbers with their own inventory.
